The systems architect will be instrumental in driving the success of Xilinx's Pro Audio-Video and Broadcast segment (AVB). The right candidate will be responsible for the following broad level tasks:

1. Customer engagements
2. Product definition and application platform strategy
3. Thought leader promoting Xilinx's vision in AVB
4. Product marketing of Xilinx solutions
5. Ecosystem engagements for AVB

Applicants must be able to work in a fast paced team environment with the ability to influence across team boundaries to effect change within a large organization.

Specific duties include:

Execution of business development and marketing strategies for AVB segment:
Support sales in their account penetration plans
Provide systems architecture and solutions support
Lead technical response (architecture discussions) to customer RFQ's and RFP's
Create application specific training content, system level design-in applications collateral and conduct training sessions
Collect customer requirements to drive Xilinx roadmap
Define prioritized design-win targets
Be a part of the team that wins customer designs and generates revenue
Establish a relationship with the appropriate customer stakeholders
Product definition and application platform strategy:
Drive system level product definition conversations with key customers
Prioritize requirements that will drive Xilinx's video roadmap
Drive feasibility assessments and recommend / review / approve new product definitions

Thought leadership:
Participation in industry conferences, workshops, panels, standards committees, etc.
Promote Xilinx as a leader in the video and vision applications space
Journal articles, application notes and white papers

Product marketing:
Articulate the value proposition of Xilinx solution to customers
Possess the necessary soft-skills to establish a relationship with customers and with Xilinx-internal stakeholders
Create very professional application specific collateral that can be immediately consumed by Xilinx sales and customers
Support tradeshows
Objective competitive analyses

Ecosystem engagements:
Identify strategic ecosystem partners that is aligned to the AVB team strategy
Establish an engagement model with clearly defined deliverables
Articulate the value proposition of the ecosystem partner to Xilinx-internal stakeholders and to Xilinx customers
This individual will be located at Xilinx's headquarters in San Jose, CA.

BSEE required with 10+ years of experience in the Broadcast and Pro AV space. MSEE preferred
System design experience with FPGA's
Board design experience with familiarity of the different I/O related capabilities in FPGA's
Practical experience in developing winning technical proposals
Demonstrated experience in using and designing with the latest video connectivity standards (e.g. SDI, HDMI, DP, etc.) and the latest video transport standards (e.g. SMPTE 2022, SMPTE 2059, TR03, etc.)
System architecture skills that comprehend FPGA and SoC - a healthy balance of hardware system architecture with software system architecture
Demonstrated ability to solve complex system related problems

Background in:
Logic Fundamentals, FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL
Development of low-level device drivers to support the FPGA
Demonstrated ability to take on new and challenging tasks
Very good inter-personal skills
Excellent written and oral presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and multitasking environment
Willingness to travel - 50%
